ARRI introduces a complete large-format system that meets and exceeds modern production requirements, delivering unprecedented creative freedom. Based on a large-format 4K version of the ALEXA sensor, the system comprises the ALEXA LF camera, ARRI Signature Prime lenses, LPL lens mount and PL-to-LPL adapter. These system elements have been designed to take fullest advantage of the enlarged sensor, while also offering compatibility with existing lenses, accessories and workflows.
Featuring a sensor slightly larger than full frame, ALEXA LF records native 4K with ALEXA’s best overall image quality. This allows filmmakers to explore an immersive large-format aesthetic while retaining the sensor’s natural colorimetry, pleasing skin tones and stunning capability for HDR and WCG workflows. Versatile recording formats, including efficient ProRes and uncompressed, unencrypted ARRIRAW up to 150 fps, encompass all on-set workflow requirements.

ARRI LPL Lens Mount and Adapters
A crucial element of this new system is the LPL lens mount, optimized for large-format sensors. A wider diameter and shorter flange focal depth allows the ARRI Signature Prime lenses and all future large-format optics to be small and lightweight, with a fast T-stop and pleasing bokeh—a combination of features that would not be possible within the confines of the PL lens mount. The LPL mount will also be available for other ARRI cameras such as the ALEXA Mini or AMIRA, so Signature Prime lenses can be used for both large format and Super 35. In addition, the LPL mount is being licensed to other lens and camera manufacturers.

Date of First Order Acceptance
• First order acceptance for ALEXA LF cameras: Friday, February 2, 2018. Order confirmations for cameras can be sent out, but must include a notification that the wireless function may be disabled if the certification for their region has not been completed yet.
• Once the local certifications are completed, delivery in each region will start.
• Orders received will be delivered on a fair allocation basis.
Sales Procedure
• Sales of the ALEXA LF camera will occur through the regular ARRI sales channels.
• Regular demo unit discounts apply, please check with your local sales manager.
Regional Limitations for Wireless Video System
• The ARRI WVS transmitters and receivers operate in the 5 GHz frequency band. The use of devices on the 5 GHz frequency band requires regional certifications which will be provided by ARRI for the countries listed below. To comply with regional certifications, different regional software versions will be installed on the Wireless Video devices by ARRI manufacturing or ARRI Service Centers. Only devices with the same regional software version are compatible with each other.
• For other regions than listed in the certified countries list, the ALEXA LF camera body can be sold with the wireless video radio disabled. The wireless video radio can get enabled once a certification is achieved or the camera body is sold to a region with certification.
• If a customer wants to use the ARRI WVS in a country other than the country it is currently programmed for, ARRI Service can change the regional software.
Wireless Video Certified Countries
• We are currently working on certifying the ALEXA LF wireless video capabilities in these countries: Albania, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Regional limitations for WiFi radio
• Regional settings for the WiFi radio are not necessary.
• The WiFi radio will be disabled for deliveries to India.
Regional limitations for Wireless Remote System radio
• The regional setting of the WRS radio can be made by the customer themselves in the ALEXA LF menu. All regional settings of the WRS radio are compliant with FCC regulations. It might not be legal to use the WRS radio in a country/region other than the country/region selected in the WRS region menu. Switch radio off and use the device in hardwired mode if you are not sure about the correct region setting.
Important Notes
• There are no hardware upgrades available from any previous generation of ALEXA to the ALEXA LF.
• Please note, that the FSND filters behind the lens are larger in diameter than the FSND filters for S35 ALEXA cameras. Also, they are held in place with spring-loaded steel balls (instead of magnets like in ALEXA SXT W), since there was not enough space inside the lens mount for magnets.
• Every ALEXA LF Basic Camera Set and every ALEXA LF Pro Camera Set includes an ARRI Academy voucher with a 50% discount for a large format training.
• Every ALEXA LF Basic Camera Set and every ALEXA LF Pro Camera Set includes a 6-month extended warranty upon end-customer registration. This is communicated through a sticker on the camera.
